So Yahoo wants a boatload of money from Microsoft, wow what a news flash! Apparently the CEO of Yahoo Carol Bartz made a comment recently regarding the possibility of there still being a deal made between Yahoo and Microsoft. The simple comment of wanting a boatload of money and the right technology and there can still be a deal was really no revelation to anyone was it? Both companies are hurting when it comes to the search engine game as Google continues to beat them both down in terms of popularity and as a revenue generator.
Honestly I really don’t understand why all this talk is still surrounding this possible deal between these to juggernaut companies. Especially when it comes to the side of Microsoft as they are about to relaunch their search engine yet again The new iteration of the Microsoft search engine is their “decision engine” bing. Why even discuss the possible buy out of another company and waste all the money spinning your wheels when you have obviously been spending a lot of money on resources to re create your search engine into the new bing site.
I guess when companies get to be the size of Microsoft the amount of money they waste on all their side projects is really not a thought for them. I mean seriously if you were really thinking of buying out another search engine competitor why would you be spending the money to remake your own. Just pony up that boatload of money and get on with the deal already! Am I right or what?
Just think of all the money that these three search engines are responsible for generating on a yearly basis. Then you take into consideration that Google is at an all time high in terms of domination with about 65% of the search engine market share going to them. You really have to wonder if Yahoo and Microsoft joining up to gang up on the mighty Google will be enough to topple them. After all together they are still only at about half of what Google is doing. It’s pretty much the equivalent of what Microsoft has done in the battle for market share with operating systems and web browsers. Oh well guys I guess you can’t win all the markets you get into.
