How To Make Money Collecting Anything

I was doing some normal research on some new topics regarding earning money and skimming through some news headlines and such when I came upon an article about making money from collecting old video games. Being a self proclaimed video game addict for about 30 years now ;-) the article easily peeked my interest. As long as I have played and as much money that I have spent over the last three decades  it never really occurred to me that there would be a market for collecting those old games.

I like most gamers are not really concerned with the money aspect of this rather expensive hobby. We just want the latest and greatest game and move on to the next conquest. Well as it turns out that old saying “one persons trash is another persons treasure” holds true for video games. So where am I going with this you may be wondering well let me tell you, that article got me thinking about collecting for money in general so I did a Google search and something rather interesting popped up on that 1st page.  The results gave me a mixed bag of links on how to collect all sorts of things to make a profit from video games, stamps, sheet music, coins and judgments as in a collection agency. That last one seemed kind of random to me as well but I suppose it fits the search term.

It all got me wondering though, how different can collecting sheet music, coins, stamps, comic books or anything else for that matter be? I mean seriously think about it you look for the rare items that are hard to find and in good condition. Hold on to that valuable commodity for a while and then if you want to turn a profit you put the word out that you are putting it up for sale and bam you double or triple your cash if your lucky 8-)

Of course the trick is being a collector in a market that has other like minded investors that are willing to spend some bucks on what you have collected. I just found it odd that the search results gave out such a mixed bag of how to gather up all these different products to make money when to me it’s all the same simple concept of collecting and selling to make money and it does not matter what the items are.
